Soul sign Robert Redd to a 1-year contract

The Soul signed wide receiver/kick returner Robert Redd to a one-year deal. The deal was announced Thursday.

Redd’s first season with the Soul will mark his sixth with in Arena Football. He has caught 448 passes for 5,134 yards and 81 touchdowns in his AFL career while also returning 163 kickoffs for 2,705 yards and two touchdowns. Redd comes to the Soul after playing for the Dayton Sharks of the Continental Indoor Football League in 2013.   

“Anytime you can add quality experience, you jump at it,” Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said in a statement.  “He brings a lot of talent and experience to our receiving corps and we are always excited to add another weapon in our arsenal.”

Redd was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2003 and participated in preseason games for the Eagles in 2005 before failing to make the roster.
