Jimmy Rollins was one of 27 players named Thursday to the United States' provisional roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. He is the lone Phillie on the roster.
Rollins is one of three American players returning from the 2009 team that lost in the semifinals to Japan, joining former Phillie Shane Victorino and and Milwaukee's Ryan Braun.
Joe Mauer, Mark Teixeira, Brandon Phillips and David Wright will fill out the infield. Adam Jones, Giancarlo Stanton and Braun make up the starting outfield. R.A. Dickey, Ryan Vogelsong and Kris Medlen headline the United States' starting pitching staff.
The first round of the WBC starts March 2.
