Eagles Turn the ‘Page,' Activate Hall

The Jarrad Page experiment in Philly officially ended Wednesday as the Eagles released the veteran safety.

The man the Eagles once tabbed as their starting free safety failed to impress in that role eventually landing on the inactive list for a few weeks.

He was picked up in early August to give the Eagles some depth at safety. With Marlin Jackson hurt again and Nate Allen still recovering from knee surgery, Page was thrust into a starting role.

Page recorded 36 tackles through five games as a starter but he was also beaten multiple times both on run and pass plays drawing the ire of Eagles fans frustrated by the parade of Eagles safeties following the depature of legend Brian Dawkins.

After suffering a stinger Page was inactive Week 6 against the Redskins. Coming out of the Bye Week Page was also inactive for the Cowboys and Bears games.

He was activated last week against Arizona but didn’t start and only managed one tackle in a relief role.

Page was let go to make room for WR Chad Hall who was promoted from the practice squad.

Hall, a 5-foot-8 wideout, played eight games for the Birds last season hauling in 11 passes for 115 yards and a score while rushing for 29 yards.

With Jeremy Maclin on the mend, Hall gives the Eagles extra depth not only at receiver but as a punt returner as well.
