PST: Eagles' youth on D impressive vs. Bears

The Eagles' first-team offense did not impress in last Friday's preseason opener against the Bears, but former Birds linebacker Ike Reese was impressed by what he saw from the young players, specifically on defense.

"I thought Marcus Smith showed some flashes, some athletic ability out there in open space. You wanted to see him pass rush more, he didn't get the opportunity to do that," Reese said during Monday's edition of Philly Sports Talk. "And my guy in the middle, big Beau Allen, The Beau-hemoth, he made some plays in there where he collapsed the pocket."

Reese also gave a shoutout to pass rusher Vinny Curry, who continues to show promise in his limited work. "You put Vinny Curry in there against second- and third-teamers, he's gonna look like an all-star," Reese said.

Reese also mentioned two offensive players who looked good in their first action of the exhibition season. For more on them, watch the video up top.
