New England Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski said Monday he's "ready to go" for the team's season-opener Sunday against the Dolphins, according to ESPN.

The 25-year-old two-time Pro Bowler played in seven games in 2013 before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the season. He returned to Patriots practice in mid-August.

Gronkowski played in 16 games each of his first two seasons. Injuries have limited him to 18 games over the last two. In his sophomore campaign, Gronkowski broke out as a star, catching 90 passes for 1,327 yards and a league-leading 17 touchdowns.

He has caught 42 touchdowns in 44 career games.

Broncos: Welker returns from concussion
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Wes Welker returned to practice Monday for the first time since sustaining a concussion in an Aug. 23 preseason game against the Houston Texans.

The Denver slot receiver ran short routes during the 20-minute viewing period open to the media.

Welker's concussion was his third in 10 months. He got hurt on a hard hit from D.J. Swearinger that prompted Peyton Manning to swear at the swaggering safety.

That earned the five-time MVP the first taunting penalty of his career along with an $8,268 fine.

Welker caught 73 passes for 778 yards and a career-high 10 TDs last season despite missing the last 3 1-2 games. He also had 18 grabs for 160 yards and a TD in the playoffs.

Titans: Practice squad finalized
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with linebacker Quentin Groves as they continue tinkering with the roster.

The Titans announced the deal Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Groves is a six-year veteran who spent last season with Cleveland under Ray Horton, now the Titans' defensive coordinator. Groves has eight sacks over 84 games, including six over the last two seasons. Drafted by Jacksonville in the second round in 2008 out of Auburn, Groves also has played for Oakland and Arizona.

The Titans waived linebacker Patrick Bailey to make roster space. They also signed cornerback Ri'Shard Anderson, linebacker Dontay Moch and tight end Orson Charles to the practice squad. Charles played 29 games with Cincinnati, while Moch has played in five games with Cincinnati and Arizona.

Bills: Moeaki released
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have released tight end Tony Moeaki after reaching an injury settlement with the fourth-year player.

Moeaki missed most of training camp due to an assortment of injuries and was been placed on the Bills reserve/injured list on Friday. The Bills were giving the oft-injured player a second chance after signing Moeaki late last season.

In other moves Monday, Buffalo signed offensive guard D.J. Morell and running back Lonnie Pryor to the practice squad.

Morrell spent the preseason with St. Louis before being cut. Pryor was waived by Tampa Bay last week, and spent last season on the Buccaneers' practice squad.

The Bills open the season at Chicago on Sunday.
