Best known for being the best pitcher in Phillies history, and a man who valued his privacy and avoided distractions at all costs. Lefty pitched the second-most innings in Phillies history (3,697⅓) and went 24-9 with a 2.34 ERA in leading the Phils to the 1980 World Series. Although he spent the bulk of his in Philly, Carlton also pitched for the Cardinals, Giants, White Sox, Indians and Twins before calling it quits in 1989.
