The Sixers will not see Tim Duncan tonight at the Wells Fargo Center as the Spurs have elected to rest the big man, head coach Gregg Popovich announced pregame.
San Antonio, off to a 6-1 start, is playing its second game of a back-to-back after posting 120-89 win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
The 37-year-old Duncan played 24 minutes in the victory while scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
This is the not first time Brett Brown's club has seen an opponent rest a star performer against them, as the Heat sat Dwyane Wade in the Sixers' season opener, a night after Miami beat the Bulls in its own season opener.
The 6-foot-11, 250-pound Duncan is averaging 13.3 points per game this season, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
The Spurs have won four straight games and the Sixers have lost three of their last four. To read game notes for tonight's matchup, click here.
