Social media is such a mystery.
A tweet by Nerlens Noel read this Sunday afternoon:
4-4-14— Nerlens Noel (@NerlensNoel3) March 9, 2014
My immediate reaction was “do tell,” but without a response on Twitter, we have no idea what Noel meant when he tweeted just that date: April 4, 2014.
A Sixers spokesman would not specifically address Noel's tweet, but did say "Noel continues to make progress. He has medical criteria he must pass and when he does that, we will tell you."
Noel is from the Boston area and the Sixers do play at TD Garden Arena that night against the Celtics. Including that night, he could appear in seven games.
If Noel, who was selected sixth overall in last year’s NBA draft, played that night, it would be his first appearance in a Sixers uniform since coming to the team in a draft-night trade last June.
Noel has been recovering from knee surgery he underwent in March of 2013. Little by little he has increased his activity with the team, but to the best of our knowledge, he has yet to partake in five-on-five scrimmages.
What we do know is that the Sixers held their annual practice for Sixers campers at Haverford College Sunday and Noel did not participate because of back spasms.
