Tonight's lineup: Utley back in; Byrd on the bench
Share This Post

Chase Utley is back at second base and batting third for the Phillies on Tuesday against the Mets, and Marlon Byrd -- who had four hits last night -- will start the game on the bench for just the fourth time this season.

With Byrd out, Carlos Ruiz will bat fifth. In six games batting in the five-hole this season, Ruiz has four hits in 20 at-bats (.200).

Elsewhere, Grady Sizemore will return and play right field after sitting out the last two games. Tonight will mark the first time this season the Phillies have started the outfield combination of Sizemore, Ben Revere and Domonic Brown.

Cole Hamels will take the hill for the Phillies in his final start before the trade deadline. The left-hander has a 1.74 ERA over his last 11 starts and has given up just two runs over 15 innings in his last two outings.

Dillon Gee toes the rubber for New York. The 28-year old has struggled recently, going 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA in three starts since returning from a two-month DL stint.
