Darin Ruf will start at first base for a second consecutive game when the Phillies wrap up their four-game series with the San Francisco Giants on Thursday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park.

Ruf went 0 for 2 with a strikeout in the Phils' 3-1 loss on Wednesday night (see story). He'll bat sixth in the series finale. Ryan Howard remains on the bench.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Grady Sizemore will take over duties in left field for Domonic Brown and Cody Asche will return to the hot corner.

Sizemore, who will bat fifth behind cleanup hitter Marlon Byrd, is batting .333 with two walks in nine games with the Phils this season.

Wil Nieves will catch for Phils starter Cole Hamels, who has a 1.81 ERA since June 1. The left-hander threw eight scoreless innings the last time he faced the Giants in a 2-1 loss on Aug. 1, 2013.

Tim Hudson gets the ball for the Giants. The right-hander is 7-2 with a 3.68 ERA in his last 13 outings against the Phillies.
