Phillies make minor-league manager changes
Share This Post

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Phillies announced changes to their minor-league managerial staff Saturday.

Ramon Henderson will not manage the Single A Clearwater club this season, as planned. Personal reasons were cited for the change.

Nelson Prada will move up from short-season Williamsport and manage at Clearwater. Shawn Williams, who had been slated to coach at Williamsport, will now manage that club. Williams is the son of former Phillies bench coach and major-league manager Jimy Williams.

The Phillies would offer no insights into why Henderson, a longtime coach at the minor- and major-league level with the franchise, would not manage in 2014. Henderson, who has acknowledged battling alcoholism, had been on hiatus from the club for several seasons before returning in 2013.
